The design, construction and operation of the Póvoa de Santa Iria Crematorium is the result of the public tender launched by the Municipality of Vila Franca de Xira. Opened on October 20th, 2010, the construction of the Póvoa de Santa Iria Crematorium translates into a construction area of about 500m2, equipped with a host of other facilities as a chapel for ceremonies, lounge, cafeteria, indoor gardens, Garden Memory for placement of ashes from the cremation and cendrario.
