Inaugurated on the 18th March 2019, the Leiria Crematorium, apart from a crematorium furnace, includes a religious ceremony room, a farewell room, reception, and technical rooms. All of this in a building with an area of 370 square metres, a memorial garden with 30 square metres, for the deposit of ashes, and a parking lot, in a terrain spanning 1200 square metres.

It aims at supplying the people of the ten Municipalities of the Intermunicipal Community of Leiria: Alvaiázere, Ansião, Batalha, Castanheira de Pera, Figueiró dos Vinhos, Leiria, Marinha Grande, Pedrógão Grande, Pombal e Porto de Mós, the best conditions to allow them to choose the alternative of cremation.
